POWERBALL© is among America’s favorite draw games, with the potential to grow massive jackpots and multiple ways to win. If you’re in West Virginia, you can try your chances on POWERBALL through the West Virginia Lottery in person or online. Here’s how it all works.
POWERBALL© Explained
POWERBALL© revolves around picking six numbers in total – five from one to 69, and one POWERBALL© number from one to 26. You’ll need to match all six for the jackpot, but don’t worry if you don’t, as there are plenty more chances to win.
The game offers nine different prize tiers, so you might still see some reward for matching fewer numbers. Plus, adding the Power Play feature to your ticket puts you in for a chance at bigger non-jackpot prizes.
The draws happen three times weekly – Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 11:00 PM Eastern Time.
Power Play
You can add Power Play to your ticket for just a buck more per play. This feature multiplies non-jackpot prizes by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or even 10x. However, the 10x multiplier only shows up when the jackpot is $150 million or less.
If you match all five white balls without the POWERBALL©, Power Play automatically doubles your prize from $1 million to $2 million, regardless of which multiplier gets drawn.
